Giving Charms is a charity project of Mondoro Charities. We have partnered with Agent Orange organizations in Northern Vietnam that help teach handicapped and underprivileged people the skill of making and creating necklaces to sell as a profession. This is a life-skills workshop that tries to help them become self-sufficient. Mondoro Charities works with them in designing, developing, and selling our collection of necklaces.

All the proceeds for these necklaces go to help worthy Mondoro Charities projects. We feel this is a win/win situation for everyone. When you buy a Mondoro Giving Charms necklace you not only help provide a job, you are also helping others by supporting our Mondoro Charity projects.

Approximately twenty million gallons of herbicides (dioxin, being the main ingredient) were used by the U.S. in Vietnam between 1962 and 1971 to remove unwanted plant life and undergrowth that provided cover for North Vietnamese forces during the Vietnam Conflict. Agent Orange was named after the orange stripes on the canisters that contained the herbicide. High contents of chemical traces are still found today in northern Vietnam’s agricultural grounds and cities. The herbicide is said to have caused minor to severe birth defects, nerve and urological disorders, skin diseases, soft-tissue cancers, and other disorders. Many of the children in northern Vietnam have been affected by the lingering repercussions of this herbicide.

With the Giving Charms program, Mondoro works with organizations that help teach self-esteem to people with various disabilities and ailments. They also teach how to become self-sustaining. Many of the people come from poverty-stricken villages and families who do not have the means to provide for themselves. However, they have a unique opportunity. By making Giving Charms necklaces, they are learning what it takes to become self-reliant and increasing their self-worth as a unique and capable human being.

There are many ways you can help Mondoro Charities with the Giving Charms project. A few of them are listed here:

Networking. Do you have friends or contacts who can purchase these necklaces? If so, we would appreciate any contacts you might give us to help sell these necklaces. The more we sell the more worthy projects we can help. Spread the Word!

Design. In the ever-changing world of fashion, there are many different looks and styles that come and go. Those of you who are in tune with the current styles of necklaces or small crafts are encouraged to offer expertise in recommending materials, designs, and color matches. Share Your Knowledge!

Sales and Distribution. You can choose to sell/distribute the necklaces directly from your store or office to customers, fellow co-workers, friends, or family. Be Involved!

Donations. If you are unable to help in any of these areas, but believe in what we are trying to do, please help us by making a donation. Remember, a little bit can go a long way, and Mondoro Charities will use all the money it receives for these projects. There are not many charities in this world that will put your money to as good a use as we would. For we realize that your money is important to you, so we want to make sure that we give it completely and only to those projects that are in need
